Good Child Transitional Center

In 2023, Bill Okwuosa, Owner & CEO, opened Good Child Transitional Center to provide education for children 12 months to 6 years old. Good Child Transitional Center was opened to provide a learning and transitional environment that empowers children to overcome emotional and physical barriers to grow into their best selves.

Every child in our center is exposed to children from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and abilities. We like to refer to it as the true face of America. Why is this important? Because the earlier they encounter inclusive environments, the more they will understand and accept each other.

We are proud to represent the Town of Orange’s core values by preparing our children to be part of this vibrant community where they will mature and thrive.

Our Mission

Good Child Transitional Center is committed to integrating social and emotional support to children and their families while using evidence-based and intensive behavior intervention practices.

Our Center

At Good Child Transitional Center, children from the ages of 12 months to 6 years of age benefit from our smaller classrooms and staff-to-child ratios. We focus on the individual development of each child, addressing all physical development areas, including social and emotional development, cognitive, and language and literacy.

We address individual development by focusing on what each child needs to be successful. We do this through assessments and observations, which include speech and language, social skills, gross and fine physical development. By assessing each child, we are able to focus our attention on each child’s needs to strengthen their development, while encouraging other developmental areas to progress.

Our staff includes an administrative body, head teachers, and teacher assistants. All teaching staff are experienced in early childhood education and participate in continuing education through workshops, courses, and classes. All staff members are certified in First Aid and CPR, Medication Administration, and Epi-Pen procedures. We also have several consultants to support our staff and children. We have weekly visits from our Nurse Consultant, our Educational Consultant provides staff observations and lesson plan support, and our Nutrition Consultant approves all menus and meal options for children. At Good Child Transitional Center, we recognize the importance of social and emotional development. Our Social Worker supports staff in behavior management training, social, and emotional training to provide the students with the best supports.

Our History

In 2023, Good Child Development Center extended its services to the Town of Orange and surrounding neighbors to open Good Child Transitional Center. We are an inclusive toddler and preschool program, providing early childhood education for children ages 12 months to 6 years old.
