Hi! My name is Paws and I am the mascot for Good Child! I carry my values in my name: Persistence, Awesomeness, Wisdom and Support. I help my friends remember to make Green Choices and be kind and respectful to all.

Program by Age
A year-round, full-time play-to-learn experience. Choose the right program for your child, from infants through kindergarten prep. Each classroom supports learning, routines, and healthy growth at every age.
Infant Program
6 WEEKS TO 12 MONTHS
An infant program to introduce your child to routines and trusting relationships with caregivers through motor, language and social-emotional development.
Wadlers Program
10 MONTHS TO 24 MONTHS
A waddler program to support growth focused on supporting gross motor growth, socialization and introduction to self help skills.
Toddlers Program
15 MONTHS TO 3 YEARS OLD
A toddler program built through consistent routines, a balance of teacher and student led activities and introduction to learning centers and academic concepts.
Big 3s Program
24 MONTHS TO 3.5 YEARS OLD
A program for children turning 3 after September of each year, focused on preparing little ones for the expectations of Preschool, building a bridge from toddlers to preschool.
Preschool Program
3 YEARS TO 4.5 YEARS OLD
A preschool program focused on structured classroom activities, independence, self-regulation and academics introduced in a larger setting.
K-Prep Program
4 YEARS TO 6 YEARS OLD
A kindergarten readiness program that prepares students for the expectations of public school through structured academically focused activities and hands-on learning.
Safety and Security
Our center is equipped cameras in every classroom, common area, playground, entrance, and parking lot. Our administrative team can review footage to ensure safety and enforce policies. The system was updated in July 2025 with modern cameras, audio, over 60 days of stored footage.
Health and Wellness
We have weekly visits from a nurse consultant who supports children’s health, care plans, and needed communication with pediatricians. Our teachers are First Aid and CPR and Medication Administration certified to emergency and routine support as needed.
Nutritious Meals and Weekly Menus
Our tuition includes 3 daily free meals shared with parents through our weekly menu, which features a variety of flavors, colors and nutrients while following the OEC’s nutrition guidelines.

Breakfast, lunch and snack are provided daily for all enrolled students.
Weekly Menus
Families receive the following week’s menu every Friday through our Weekly Newsletter.
Dietary Needs
Meals can be adjusted for allergies, intolerances, or religious restrictions according to each child and family’s needs.
Mealtime Supervision
Teachers eat with children to ensure safety, monitor for choking or reactions and support table manners and socializing during meals.

Thank you for supporting our children. Our Emerald City 55th Anniversary Gala fundraiser helps support Good Child Development Center. We’re grateful for every sponsor, donor, and attendee.
What are the hours of operation?
We’re open Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 6:00pm. We’re closed for 12 national holidays, 1 week in June and 1 week in December. View our holiday schedule.
Can my child attend part-time?
Our program is full time only, so although it is at the family’s discretion how often to bring their child to school, tuition rates are for full-time enrollment.
How do you share updates with families?
We use the Brightwheel platform to keep families informed. Teachers can share updates about daily activities, meals, diapering/potty, incidents, special activities and curriculum. Parents can have direct communication through the chat function.
How does check-in and attendance work?
Each family checks their child in via QR code upon dropping off and checks them out through the same process at pickup. Brightwheel tracks the children present in the building to ensure safety and ratio compliance.
What is your teaching style?
We use a global approach adaptable to each child’s individual needs through play, fun and hands-on activities. Teacher utilize positive discipline and reinforcement to help children develop self-regulation skills.
Is your program accredited?
Yes, we hold a NAEYC Accredited+ status. Our center has been accredited for over 15 years and scored 92% during our last evaluation in 2025.
Do you follow the Connecticut Early Learning Standards?
Yes, the Experience Curriculum is aligned with CT ELDS.
Do teachers get support and continued education?
Yes. We welcome periodical visits from an Educational Consultant, require educators to take 22h/year of continued education hours and participate in a week-long Professional Development period with guest speakers, policy reviews and interactive training.
Curriculum and Family Updates Guide
Families stay connected through the Brightwheel app, featuring safe check-in and out, daily updates and reports, reminders and notifications, requests for paperwork and tuition processing. We employ the Experience Curriculum, a multidisciplinary learning tool that encompasses 8 learning domains and 35+ developmental milestones.
